Research Interests

Professor Rutledge’s research interests include mesoscale meteorology, cloud electricity, radar meteorology, and cloud physics. His current research focuses on the organization and structure of tropical convection, electrification processes in isolated convection and mesoscale convective systems, and the use of polarimetric to study precipitation processes in mid-latitude and tropical convection. Professor Rutledge’s research group addresses a broad range of issues associated with convection and remote sensing. His group also operates the CSU-CHILL National Radar Facility.
