Takamitsu received his Ph.D. at MIT and comes to us most recently from the University of Washington where he served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at JISAO. In 2005, he received MIT's Rossby Award for the most outstanding Ph.D. thesis in the Program in Atmospheres, Oceans, and Climate.

Taka develops mathematical and numerical models of physical and biogeochemical processes in the oceans to study global climate and biogeochemical cycles.
